How Much Does a Permanent Bracelet Cost? UK Price Guide

Most people who look into a permanent bracelet expect a small, simple number. Then they open a booking page, see chain prices, charm prices, a welding fee and a re-welding fee, and quietly close the tab. This guide puts the real UK figures in one place, so you know what you would actually pay before you book anything.

How much does a permanent bracelet cost in the UK?

A welded permanent bracelet in the UK generally costs between £40 and £140 per bracelet, depending on the metal and the retailer. Sterling silver sits at the lower end, 9ct gold at the top. Here is what four UK retailers were charging in September 2026.

One thing worth noticing straight away: those are prices per bracelet. Permanent bracelets are very often a two person purchase, and most people booking an appointment are booking it with someone. Double every figure in that table and you have the number that actually leaves your account.

What you are actually paying for

Four things move the price, and they move it a long way.

The metal

This is the biggest single factor. Sterling silver starts around £40 to £45. Gold filled sits in the middle. Solid 9ct gold roughly doubles the bill, which is why Under the Rose, who only work in 9ct gold, start at £100 while H.Samuel start at £40 across a wider range of metals.

The chain style

Heavier and more detailed chains cost more than a fine cable chain in the same metal. H.Samuel offer twelve chain styles at a single appointment, and the spread between the plainest and the most substantial is most of the difference between their entry price and their top one.

Charms and connectors

This is where a £45 bracelet becomes a £110 one. Charms start at £30 at both H.Samuel and Samuel Perry, and at £40 at Astrid & Miyu. Connectors, the little links that join two chains, are £40 in silver and £70 in 9ct gold at Samuel Perry. Adding an initial and a birthstone to each of two bracelets can cost more than the bracelets did.

Where you go

London carries a premium, and the bigger jewellery brands price above independent studios. The costs nobody mentions until later

The appointment price is not the lifetime price. Welded chains do break, usually by catching on something, and when they do you have to go back.

• Re-welding. Astrid & Miyu cover repairs free for the first year, then charge £30 to re-weld. Under the Rose charge £10 to remove and re-weld. Samuel Perry re-weld their own pieces free, and charge £15 for anything bought elsewhere.
• Getting it off. Taking a welded bracelet off means cutting it, and putting it back on means another appointment. Under the Rose charge £15 to fit a clasp if you would rather be able to remove it yourself.
• Travel and time. Appointments run 15 to 30 minutes and are usually booked in advance. That is fine if a studio is down the road, and an afternoon out if it is not.

None of this makes a welded bracelet a bad buy. It is a genuinely lovely thing to have done, and the appointment itself is part of the memory. It just means the honest number for two people is rarely the number on the booking page.

The at-home alternative: £39.99 for two

The studio columns use the retailer prices in the first table, doubled. They are a fair reflection of what two people walk out having paid.

So which should you choose?

Book a studio if you want solid gold, if you want charms and connectors, or if the appointment itself is the point. Plenty of people book one as the thing they do together on an anniversary, and paying £200 for an afternoon you both remember is a perfectly good reason to pay £200.

Get the kit if you are not near a studio, if you want it this week rather than whenever there is an appointment free, if it is a surprise, or if you are doing it long distance and want to send one half to someone else. It is also the easier option if you are buying for a group, since one kit does two people and three kits do six for less than a single 9ct gold bracelet.
