Looking inside it
Hold the front of the pendant very close to your eye, or press it right up against your phone camera. The photo appears inside. The only thing you need to get right is keeping the back of the pendant uncovered so light can pass through, so do not pinch it between finger and thumb. You do not need a lamp, a window or a particular kind of room.
Projecting it
Rest the pendant directly against a phone torch, touching it rather than held a few centimetres away, and the photo projects onto whatever surface you point it at. The light source has to be direct and narrow, which is why a phone torch works and a ceiling light does not. A room bulb is too broad to project anything.
Move the pendant further from the wall and the image gets bigger. Move it closer and it gets sharper. There is no single correct distance, it is a trade you make depending on whether you want size or detail.
Does a Bigger Pendant Hold More of the Photo?
No, and this is the single most useful thing to know before you choose one.
